Louis Bloemhof was the youngest son of Mozes Bloemhof and Sippora Wertheim. He was born in Amsterdam on March 8, 1916 and unmarried. As his profession is registered "leader ready-made clothing industry" and "sales representative". Louis had an older brother Salomon (Sal), who married Roza Agstteribbe at the end of February 1940. His brother was killed during the Shoah, his sister-in-law survived the Holocaust.
Louis lived at home with his parents at Plantage Middenlaan 32 I, from where he was taken away on July 14, 1942 and taken to Westerbork. Incidentally, it is not impossible that Louis volunteered for the so-called "work expansion in Germany", or that he has responded to the call for this, but no notes have been found for this on his registration card of the Jewish Council.
Louis Bloemhof arrived in Westerbork on 14/15 July 1942 and was deported to Auschwitz on 21 July. This transport, with a total of 931 deportees, arrived in Auschwitz three days later, where Louis was selected to work as a forced laborer, inside or outside the camp.
It is not known exactly on which date Louis Bloemhof lost his life there. That is why, after the war, the Ministry of Justice ordered the City of Amsterdam to draw up a death certificate for Louis Bloemhof in which it was established that Louis Bloemhof died in Auschwitz on 30 September 1942.
