Samuel Davids was a son of Isaac Davids and Cornelia Hart. He was born on 7 April 1870 in Rotterdam and he earned his living as waiter, money messenger and warehouse chief. He married 14 October 1897 in Rotterdam the non-Jewish Cornelia Heesius, who was born 12 July 1870 in Dordrecht and with whom he had four children. In the period till 1937 the Samuel Davids family has lived most certainly at 12 -14 different addresses in Rotterdam.
On 16 February 1936 Samuel’s wife Cornelia passed away, and Samuel remarried on 13 October 1937 the also non-Jewish Gijsberta Francisca ten Harkel, who was born in 1874 in Gorinchem. After the wedding he moved with Gijsberta to the address Bruijnstraat 92c in Rotterdam.
As far as known, Samuel’s children and his 2nd wife must have passed away after war’s end. Samuel Davids self passed away in Rotterdam on 21 March 1945 at the age of 74 years.
