The 60th anniversery of the Kehilla of Doetinchem.

The last big festivity of the kehilla Doetinchem was celebrated in March 1938 because of its 60th anniversary, including two solemn shuffleboard services. A party committee, consisting of H. van Gelder,  M.L. Groenheim, L.L. de Wolff,  J.Mogendorff, Al. Heilbron, M. Jacobi, I. Jacobs, and J. Meijers designed a party guide with introductions by Chief Rabbi Vredenburg and Mayor Duval Slothouwer. The party guide provided a brief overview of the most important events of 1878-1938. The synagogue in Doetinchem was, according to the enthusiastic party guide author, "one that could compete with the most beautiful places of worship in Gelderland in terms of both exterior and interior".

On Saturday, February 26, 1938, the solemn opening of the festivities took place in the great hall of the Society. This was followed by a shuffleboard service, graced by the quartet 'Hassemeigim Besjierim' from Amsterdam and a festive speech by Rebbe Nieweg. The children were offered a matinee by the TOP Youth Association.
