Jacob Mok, merchant, was a son of Hijman Philip Mok and Heintje Deetas. He was born in Haarlem on 12 December 1883 and married in Zaandam on 15 August 1918 Henriette van Zanten, a daughter of Samuel van Zanten and Johanna Hartog. The Mok-van Zanten couple had a daughter Henny, who was born in Amsterdam on 21 October 1919.
Jacob, Henriette and Henny lived at various addresses in Amsterdam. But the marriage did not last and on 15 February 1936, the marriage was dissolved by divorce. It appeared further from the City Archive of Amsterdam that Jacob Mok has been unsubscribed from the Peoples Registry because of V.O.W. (translated: Departed Unknown Where To). It appeared that after the divorce he has left for Antwerp, where he has lived at Lange Nieuwstraat 45.
However, his certificate of death shows, that his latest residence was in Den Haag, where up from August 1942, the first raids and deportations has started. It turned out that Jacob Mok has been murdered in Auschwitz on 15 October 1942.
