Lion de Haas was married to Carolina Polak. The couple had a son, Simon Bertus de Haas. The family lived at 26 Kerkstraat in Wierden, where Lion de Haas owned a small oil and grease factory. The family members went into hiding in Wierden and later in Borne. They were caught by coincidence on 19 February 1944 and deported to Auschwitz via Westerbork.
