Bernhard Bär wurde am 27. Mai 1885 in Bruchsal geboren. Er hatte den Kaufmanns-Beruf erlernt (nähere Angaben fehlen), war seit 1915 Soldat beim Landsturm-Batallion in Wetzlar und wurde – zu einem nicht bekannten Datum – zum Unteroffizier befördert. Ob er an der Front eingesetzt war, ist nicht überliefert.
Er wanderte bereits nach dem Krieg, 1919, nach Holland aus und lebte in Rotterdam und betrieb …
