Cohen and his family

Aaltje van de Woude married a doctor in Aduard. They had one son, Aron Elie. In 1940, the young family made plans to flee, but they never carried them out. In May 1941, when Jewish doctors were prohibited from treating non-Jewish patients, they moved to Groningen. When Aaltje van de Woude’s husband was ordered to report to the Jewish labour camps, he tried to escape to Sweden. Aaltje and Aron Elie…
