Aaltje Schuitevoerderwas a daughter of Benedictus Schuitevoerder and Marianne Halberstad. She married on 11 December 1935 in Amsterdam to Emanuel van Lochem, son of Hijman van Lochem and Kaatje Roodveldt. The couple had two children: Herman and Merian.
Aaltje had four other siblings: Mina, Greta, Jetje and Louise.
