Reintje is een dochter van Hijman Melkman en Ester Hijman. Ze trouwde 18 mei 1899 met Jacob Gesler (A'dam, 28 juni 1877 - A'dam, 12 april 1929), zoon van Hartog Gesler en Naatje Fransman.
