Louis de Paauw was a son of Philip Samuel de Paauw and Sarlini Boutelje. He married Hanna Catharina Souget in 1892 in Amsterdam. She passed away in 1926. They had four children: Sarlini, Matthijs (who passed away in 1920), Duifina and a child that survived the war.
