Arnold Norden

Arnold Norden studied medicine in Amsterdam, where he sat for his medical finals on 28 April 1918. He lived and practised medicine at 95 Stadhouderskade in Amsterdam. Norden had special office hours for the staff of the Dutch railways.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 10643) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 8875/11073).

By establishing the date of death of Arnold Norden the official date is maintained as stated after the war by the Dutch Department of Justice.

On his card from the Jewish Council it is stated that he was transported to Auschwitz on the 10th of November 1942.

Op 5 oktober 1942 werden in Voorthuizen negen Joden gearresteerd die ondergedoken zaten bij Pierre Dekker. De arrestatie werd verricht door de burgemeester van Barneveld Joachim Westrik.De agenten die aan de arrestatie deelnamen waren bij de ramen en deuren opgesteld zodat niemand kon ontvluchten.

De gearresteerde personen waren Arnold Norden, Ina Norden, Elisabeth Norden-Roos, Mirjam Wolff, Mia C…
