Barend Polak

According to the death records of camp Sachsenhausen Barend Polak died on 14 December 1944. It is possible this date is different from the official day of death as established after the war by the Department of Justice.

Barend is een zoon van Alexander Benjamin Polak (A'dam, 3 november 1825) en Sibilla Kater. Hij trouwde 8 juli 1908 met Mirjam Onderwijzer (A'dam, 5 augustus 1878 - A'dam, 16 juli 1938).

Barend Polak had become a widower in 1938. He lived with his adult children (a few of which were married) at 16 Johan Keplerstraat in Amsterdam. There were four children: Alexander Polak, Samson Polak and his wife Frieda Polak-Grüneberg and another two children who survived the war.
