In August or September 1944, Juliana Levy was arrested at the address where she had been in hiding, Overtoom 20-II in Amsterdam. At the time of her arrest, she gave a false identity: Juliana Smit, born on 22 February 1869 in Strasbourg. Illingen, her actual place of birth, is not far from Strasbourg.
