David Gomes de Mesquita was sinds 1936 lid van de CPN. Hij komt voor op de erelijst van de CPN. Deze werd na de oorlog samengesteld om er een gedenkboek mee samen te stellen. Helaas is dat boek er nooit gekomen, maar de documenten op basis waarvan hij op de lijst is terechtgekomen bevinden zich in het archief van de CPN op het IISG (inventarisnummer 150).
