Louis van Leeuwen was a son of Marcus van Leeuwen and Roosje Menkes. Louis married Elizabeth Knap in 1898. Elizabeth died 18 years later. Louis got remarried to Betje Engers. After she died, Louis got married for a third time to Celina Speelman.
