Here is what I have about Johanna Herrmann, nee Hoffnung, widowed Sandhaus: Born on 14.04.1900 in Berlin, survived in Neustadt; Emigr. to San Francisco, USA on 23.12.1952. (Stadsarchif Amsterdam Card), died in San Francisco on 15.05.1973. 2. Husband Werner Herrmann. Charlotte Schwarz-Hoffnung wrote a testimonial on Yad Vashem for her father Samuel (1870, same year as you mention) and that he died in Berlin in 1941. Samuel is listed in the Berlin Address Book until 1940, but not 1941, so the facts fit.
