Johanna came to the Netherlands on December 1st, 1938. First she stayed in Den Dolder, and in October 1939 she went to the Orphanage in Utrecht.
Her father was a cattle dealer. His name was Jonas, and he was born on March 2nd, 1896 in Hellstein. Her mother's name was Else, nee Steinberger, she was born on February 6th, 1897 in Dettelbach. according to the Gedenkbuch both parents were taken to Terezin in September 1942, and from there to Auschwitz in January 1943.
Brother Eric left testimonies for all three of them at Yad Vashem.
