Charlotte Duizend-Davidson

Charlotte Duizend-Davidson (also known as auntie Lotty) was a teacher in remedial exercises. In the war she was deported to Bergen-Belsen. In April 1945 all the inmates of the camp were evacuated by the Germans. Charlotte Duizend-Davidson died of exhaustion in the train near Tröbitz.

Lotty, zoals ze ook werd genoemd, was de eerste vrouw van mijn Vader zl. Haar naam wordt in onze familie hooggehouden. Toen mijn zus werd geboren besliste mijn moeder, dat ze Lotty zou heten.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 4976) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 2823/8795).

Op onze schoorsteen stond zolang als ik mij kan herinneren de foto van Lotty. Ze hoorde er gewoon bij. Tante Lotty werd ze genoemd. Maar eigenlijk was ze geen echte tante van mij.
