Plotseling waren Anna en Lion Bannet weg, en werd het stil op de Jan Vethkade

Ze hebben blijkbaar een onuitwisbare indruk gemaakt, de kinderen Bannet.
 Het meisje, de 11-jarige Anna, kon “heel goed rolschaatsen”. En haar broertje, de 15-jarige Lion, “speelde prachtig trompet”.

De oorlog woedde, ook in Dordrecht, waar het gezin Bannet was neergestreken op de Jan Vethkade, vers uit het platgebombard…
