Salomon Michiel Stad and his family moved in 1940 to this address because they had lost their home in the city center during the Rotterdam bombardment. Above them lived the mother and brother of Louisa Vermeulen, who survived the war. Even though Louisa Vermeulen was half Jewish, and therefore would not be deported immediately, she went with her family because she did not want to abandon them. The family still sent a card to the mother of Louisa Vermeulen, where was written they were doing fine.
