Emanuel Kool was a son of Mozes Kool and Eva van de Kar. On 15 July 1942 in Amsterdam he married Regina Roodveldt, daughter of Willem Roodveldt and Elisabeth Rabbie. The document for the marriage register remains.
A letter of reference issued by De Bijenkorf and dated 24 December 1941 remains for Regina Roodveldt as well. From 16 March 1935 until 15 January 1942 Regina Roodveldt was a saleswoman in the haberdashery department. The letter of reference describes her as a 'good, dedicated, energetic saleswoman, who worked to our utmost satisfaction.' She was 'friendly and personable toward customers and co-workers.' She was dismissed due to the Nazi orders.
