Ruben van der Hoek was a son of Moses van der Hoek and Sara van Emden. He married Hester van Creveld in 1904 in Rotterdam. He later married Elizabeth van Creveld. He had with her the here mentioned daughter Hendrika and a son Rudolf. During the war he was married to a woman who presumably survived the war.

We have been unable to determine whether one or more members of this family survived the war. While their names do not appear on the lists of survivors, we have not been able to trace them in In Memoriam either. They are therefore labeled as 'surviving' and their names are not listed.
