Wolf David Zimet and his family

Wolf David Zimet and Gelle (also known as Gisela) Löffelholz fled from Germany in 1933. They settled in Groningen in the Folkingestraat, close to the synagogue. The couple had three children.
In 1942 David Zimet and the oldest child had to report at the transit camp Westerbork. The mother, Gelle, and the two other children were arrested and taken from their home several months later. The family was deported to the East through Bergen-Belsen and Theresienstadt. The parents were killed in Auschwitz. The children survived the war.
Additional information can be found in an article on the family, by H. de Lange, in Trouw, September 3, 2005.
