Salomon Steinberg and Selma Hertz had fled from the place Goch in Germany. The family settled on the Maastrichterlaan in Beek. After one-and-a-half year they had to leave the building because the new NSB mayor urgently needed a representative housing. Then they moved to a small house in Grevenbicht. Via Vught concentration camp and Westerbork they finally ended up in Sobibor.
