Hartog Schoonhoed was the son of Elias Schoonhoed (1883-1938) and Rachel Blik (1885-1933). He was the brother of Roosje, Seline, Jonas and Mietje Schoonhoed. One of his siblings survived the war. Hartog was married to a non-Jewish woman. Together, they had a child that also survived the war.
