Heijman Heijmans and his family

Two brothers and a sister, all unmarried, initially lived at the same address in Mijdrecht. They owned a butchers shop. On 12 September 1942 the family was forced to move to Amsterdam. Until their deportation they lodged with their sisters and brother-in-law, Ester Frank-Heijmans and Izak Frank, at Plantage Middenlaan 29. A memorial to them – Mijdrecht’s only three Jewish townspeople – was unveiled on 4 May 1995.
