Isaäc Workum, also known as Ies, married Sarlini de Paauw on 9 November 1893. They had four children; only their son Donald did not survive the war. They owned a magnificent villa in Bussum called 'Pretty Home', which was requisitioned by the Germans. After the war, the building became an annex of the school across the street.
