Mozes Vrenkel was married to Grietje de Jong. The couple lived at 95 Hoofdkade in Ter Apel. Mozes Vrenkel was a bag merchant. Together with his sons Daniel and Heiman, he ran the 'Veenkoloniale Zakkenhandel Fa. M. Vrenkel en Zonen' at the westside of the Hoofdstraat, a business in bags, rags, old metal etc. It was a thriving business. Mozes and his sons Daniel and Heiman played a prominent role in Jewish community life in Ter Apel.
Mozes Vrenkel owned 62 acres and 90 centiacres agricultural land. He was obliged to declare it to comply with a Nazi Ordinance (102/1941). Mozes Vrenkel handed in a bike in Ter Apel.
