Jacques Polak and his family

The Polak family had previously lived at Peperstraat 21 and Heerenweg 57 in Groningen. Their daughter Hetty died in the Spanish flu epidemic in or around 1920.
On 9 March 1943, Jacques Polak and Veronica de Heer were transported to Westerbork, where they were assigned to barracks 69 and 66. On 4 May 1943 they were deported to Sobibor.
Jacques Polak and Veronica de Heer had a child who lived at a different address, who survived the war.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 52465) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 9460/18044).
