Klara Pampel was a daughter of Mozes Pampel and Saartje Digtmaker. She married 26 February 1914 in Amsterdam to Nathan Plukker, a son of Salomon Plukker and Hanna Kornalijnslijper. The couple had three children: Salomon and Maurice and a daughter who has survived the war - also her husband but not their little son Joseph Elzas.
Klara was born in a family with ten children. One baby brother and a baby sister have died at a very young age and her brother Abraham died in December 1941 in Amsterdam and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen. Her other sisters, namely Betje, Schoontje, Roosje, Rachel, , Esther and Eva have been killed during the Holocaust.
