Max Lopes Cardozo was a son of David Lopes Cardozo and Judith Swaab. His parents were married in 1924 and besides himself, his brother Raphael was born. Parents and brother have survived the Holocaust. Only Max did not survive the war: he died in concentrationcamp Theresienstadt.
His grandfater of mothers side was Meijer Swaab and of fathers side Samuel Lopes Cardozo.
