The mayor of Winterswijk requested that Marcus Joseph de Leeuw, a cattle dealer residing at 23 Kreilstraat in Winterswijk, be located, detained and brought to trial. He had left his place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding. Identifying characteristics: 'About 5'9" tall, dark complexion, brown eyes, small black moustache, black hair streaked with grey, not a particularly Jewish appearance; usually dressed in a brown striped suit.'
