Betje Bleekveld was a daughter of Samuel Bleekveld and Esther Hamburger. She married in Amstedam on 19 December 1900 to Issaschar Wortelboer from Amsterdam. The couple resided in Amsterdam and Antwerp and had five children, among them Angelica Rebecca Wortelboer, who was married to Joseph Bril.
At some point, Issaschar Wortelboer left his wife and she divorced him before 1917. As single woman she lived at Staalstraat 22 in Amsterdam, registered there as lodging-house keeper. One of her lodgers was Abraham Isaac whose wife Regina Son was taken in as resident in the Apeldoornse Bos since 1905.
