Mozes van Weezel was a son of Juda van Weezel and Grietje Cohen, a family with three children: Mozes himself, Emelia and Zadok. After the death of his mother, his father Juda married Grietje's sister Klaartje Cohen, also daughter of Sodik Cohen and Martha Brandes.
Mozes van Weezel married in Amsterdam on 12 December 1907 to Jette de Boers, daughter of Isaac de Boers and Rachel Romijn. The couple had two children: Liesbeth and Joseph Jacques.
