Eduard Hornemann and his brother Alexander were the sons of a couple that worked for Philips. After they were arrested by German authorities, Eduard and his brother were brought to camp Vught and from there to Auschwitz. In Auschwitz Eduard Hornemann, his brother Alexander and twenty other children were kept apart from other inmates. In November 1944 they were brought to Neuengamme and subjected to medical experiments. On 20 April 1945 they were brought to the Bullenhuser Damm in Hamburg, a former schoolbuilding, and murdered there.
