Levie Walvis was a son of Zacharias Walvis and Fijtje Posener. He married on 21 March 1912 in Amsterdam to Jansje Degen, daughter of Levie Degen and Eva Bleekveld. The couple had two children: Sophia and Max, who survived the Holocaust.
