Maximiliaan(Max) Harmsen was the twin brother of Engbert Edith who survived the war. His father was not Jewish, but his mother and spouse were. He worked as a hewer. He was fired on 25 September 1942. He went into hiding with his spouse and father-in-law, but was caught. His wife, parents and father-in-law survived the war.
