A note in the file on the M-claims states that Jacob Benninga died on 23 July 1940.
In July 1940, two obituaries were placed in the Nieuw Israëlietisch Weekblad for Jacob Benninga. One notice was placed by direction and governors of Benninga's Frisian Margarine factory N.V., of which Jacob Benninga was a governor. The factory was based in Leeuwarden.
