Jacob Limkowski, son of Mozes Limkowski and Sophia (Sprince) Ferber, married 10 July 1917 in Zaandam to Betje de Vries, a daughter of Samuel de Vries and Sipora Trijbetz. The couple had two daughters: Dina, who still lived at home with her parents and Sophie, who was married in 1933 to Joel Hamme.
Jacob's parents were married in Amsterdam, both 44 years of age , on 28 August 1895 and they had a family of seven children: Jacob, Gitla (Gusti), Helene, Hendel, Sophie (lives in Vienna), Adolf (left for- and married in Engeland) and Emanuel (deceased in Antwerp 1937).

It was told by Gretha Hazelwood-Riesenbeck, a non-jewish shop-girl who had been employed by Limkowski in his shop till the beginning of the war, that Jacob Limkowski during the 2nd World War had made an underground hiding-place in his shop on behalf of himself and his family. He also had layed on a large stock of food.
