Benedictus Waas was a son of Isaac Waas and Henriette Velleman. He married Sara de Korte in Amsterdam on 14 March 1923, a daughter of Abraham de Korte and Hester Knap.

Benedictus Waas lived in the Ten Catestraat 20 in Zandvoort. He was a member of a parent committee from a school in Zandvoort. It was considered a honorary position that Jews were not allowed to hold during the occupation. In January 1941, Benedictus Waas learned from the mayor of Zandvoort that he was relieved of his role.
