Clara van Coevorden was a daughter of Joël van Coevorden and Schoontje van der Veen. In 1936 she moved from Groningen to the Annexe of the Institute for Education of the Blind in Haren. On 19 September 1941 she moved back to her parents in Groningen, to return again on 8 November 1941 to Haren.
