Roosje Manassen, a student nurse by profession, was a daughter of merchant Eugenius Rudolph Manassen and of Rachel Gosschalk.They got married on 5 February 1943 in Westerbork transit camp.
Witnesses for the marriage were Lion Poons, guardian of the groom, and Andries Davids, co-guardian of the groom. They signed the marriage certificate.
