Mietje Brilleman was a daughter of Joseph Brilleman and Branca Broekman. She had six more siblings: Naatje, Grietje, Levie, Gerrit (deceased in 1934), Hartog, and Schoontje.
She married on 14 March 1907 in Amsterdam to Daniel Pool, son of Mozes Pool and Esther Heertje. The couple had two children: Maurits, who survived the Holocaust and Branca, who was unmarried.
