Willem Vierra was a son of Isaac Vierra en Klaartje Kalkoene. He was born in a family of 10 children, among them he himself and his baby-Sister Elisabeth, who died only 2 months old in 1905. His brother Leman, (married to Helena Polak) passed already before 1940. All his other siblings, Marianne, Israel, David, Rachel, Naatje, Rebecca and Lena have died during the Holocaust.

Willem married in 1922 in Amsterdam Vrouwtje Italiaander. The couple had five children, of whom son Isaac died early 1924, aged 5 months. The couple divorced in 1938 and Willem remarried a non-Jewish woman.
