Margaretha de Gorter was a daughter of Samuel de Gorter and Branca Polak and a granddaughter of Abraham Polak and Grietje Brilleman.
Margaretha married in Amsterdam on 3 April 1941 to Abraham Mozes Velleman, son of Karel Abraham Velleman and Rebecca Kinsbergen. In October 1941 Margaretha and Abraham had a daughter Yvonne Bertha, woh survived the war. Also her father and her sister Helena Wilhelmina de Gorter have survived the Holocaust. Her mother however passed away on 4 April 1933 after which her father remarried on 5 August 1937 to Theodora Jansen.
