In July 1941, three obituaries were placed in Het Joodsche Weekblad for Salomon van der Kar. One notice was placed by the family Blom which he had worked for. The message stated that 'during his time with us, he was a loyal colleague'. Another note was placed by colleagues from Patisserie M. Blom at 58 Rijnstraat for their 'dear colleague'.
