Aron Polak was a son of Izak Polak and Judikje Veltman. He married Esther Bierschenk in Amsterdam on 13 August 1913, a daughter of Koopman Bierschenk and Klara Lap. Clara however passed away on 25 August 1933.
Aron and Esther had eight children together: Izak (who survived the Holocaust), Elisabeth (who died aged 10 in 1928), Clara, Abraham, and the four children who are mentioned here at the Monument: Joseph, Eva, Judith and Rachel.
After the death of his wife Esther Bierschenk, Aron Polak remarried in Amsterdam on 2 May 1934 to Roosje Polk, daughter of Hijman Polk and Klaare de Kromme.
