In August or September 1944, Juliana Levy was arrested at the address where she had been in hiding, Overtoom 20-II in Amsterdam. At the time of her arrest, she gave a false identity: Juliana Smit, born on 22 February 1869 in Strasbourg. Illingen, her actual place of birth, is not far from Strasbourg. She gave Leidsestraat 26 as her home address. This information was found in a notebook where it was jotted down by one of the Dutch police officers who arrested Juliana by order of the SD.
