Salomon Zwart was a son of Jacob Zwart and Esther Groen. He married in Amsterdam on 20 December 1916 to Marianne de Jong, a daughter of Abraham de Jong and Maaike Cohen.
Salomon was born in a family with ten siblings, of whom one brother has died in 1899, only 2 years old and one sister, who probably has survived the war. The others, who did not survive the Holocaust were Sara, Roosje, Mozes, Hendrika, Ruben, Juda and Jetje.
