Jetta Engelsman was the youngest of the five children of Hartog Engelsman and Sientje Rubens. Her sibs, Joseph Nathan, Nathan Abraham, Abraham Jacob and she herself, were murdered during the Shoah. Her brother Levie Hartog Engelsman, who was born on 24 January 1892 in Elburg, and who left den Haag for Curacao on 14 April 1931, has been officially unsubscribed from the Population Registry of Den Haag in 1933. Nothing further is known about him.
The unmarried Jetta Engelsman was a charlady at the Joods Lyceum in The Hague.
